Random wet spot on carpet. Hello two days ago i noticed 3 4 random wet spots on my living room carpet within a 4 range and they don t seem to be drying. At first it was just a small wet patch and thought maybe i d spilled something. If you were to draw a line thru the house where the spots occur it would be almost a straight line. I thought nothing of it until it stayed wet all day and was gone the next.
At first we assumed our little boys spilled something. We tried to dry it up but it has stayed wet for a couple weeks. In the last two weeks i ve noticed this particular wet spot form in the carpet around the stairs. This morning even worse.
He also said the flooring underneath the house was not wet. He looked under the house and says there are no water pipes in the area where the spots occur and thus cannot blame it on leaking pipes. Then last night it seemed like there were a few more spots. I just moved into my house 6 months ago and all was well but about two weeks ago i noticed a random wet spot at the bottom of my stairs about three feet from the end of the kitchen.
Random wet spots on carpet. If you still can t find a likely source then sort of a devil s choice you could call either a roofer or a plumber and hope they find the source given about a 50 50 chance of chosing the one you need to. Since then it has happened two more times. My parents used to rent it out to a family for 10 years and when we moved in there was very little upkeep done so the last year has been a series of fixing problems as they arise usually simple.
The temporary fix was to rip up the carpet knock a hole in the concrete slab repair the leaking pipe fill in the hole with quickcrete cement and restretch the carpet once it and the pad had dried. Continually wet spot on our carpet my wife and i moved into a house about one year ago. After power washing the carpet and preventing myself from spilling anything within that area it s still wet and spreading farther out. Within a week or so the damp spot progressed to a puddle 4 by 6 feet that a wet vac couldn t really keep up with.
It is on the lower level of a split level house built in 1976. I didn t think much of it i figured i had perhaps spilled water and not noticed. Our plumber came out and went into the crawl space and didn t find any wetness on the flooring nor any leaks in pipes checked the main no water on dial didn t move. Track it from the wet carpet assuming this is real recent so wood insulation would still be wet up or horizontally to where the leak is.
This room is on a concrete slab.
