Red carpet jade plant. Growing to less than a foot high with plump leaves that give an overall appearance of a succulent leafy carpet. Round green foliage edged with red similar to its relative the jade plant crassula ovata. This tender stonecrop has oval leaves that transition from green to red when exposed to bright sun. The plant takes on a lovely red glow if grown in full sun.
The foliage is green edged with red in shadier conditions and heavily blushed with deep red in bright light. Jade plants need medium to bright light. A bushy ground cover species from south africa. In less direct sun the leaves will be a dark green and will look healtheir.
Place them in front of a window that gets around 4 hours of direct or filtered sunlight. Very easy and adaptable accepting drought with an occasional drink of water for optimal health. Keep in mind that if you place it in direct strong sun the edges of the leaves will turn reddish leaving a red border around the leaves.
