Red marble onion. In april or early may or as soon as the soil can be prepared in early spring sow in a 2 wide band about 2 seeds in 1 4 1 2 deep rows 12 18 apart. This a very hard onion and a good keeper. Can be planted 2 apart to produce a flat italian cippolini shape or closer for smaller red pearl onions. Red marble cippolini hybrid little red cippolinis have the same flattened spherical shape as borettana cippolini but they are a wonderful rich ruby red color and their handsome dark red coloration goes deep into the rings.
