Reissue Better Than Original Vinyl
Where was the reissue pressed.
Reissue better than original vinyl. However it does come with a downside. The current demand for vinyl is greater than the capacity to produce them. Then they squashed the 2lp wasp star down to 1lp whhhhhy dukes of stratosphere represses have great gatefold sleeves and paisley inners but sound muddy compared to the originals. In the case of older 70 s 80 s reissues some countries did a better job than others.
Just getting back into vinyl and given the pretty high prices of recent vinyl reissues in the uk i ve been filling my boots with 70 s 80 s pressings instead. Thanks to discogs most vinyl reissues have a tangible verifiable history. People are once again interested in music as an activity immersive and tangible. I pulled out my original copy and although it lived a hard life during my misspent youth it still sounded way better than the vinyl lovers.
For 5 or so i can get a vintage copy of most albums in pretty good shape. A couple of years ago i bought a vinyl lovers reissue of the allman brothers eat a peach. When i first played it it sounded so bad i thought there was something wrong with my system. Ok so maybe not the proper first presses certainly not of the greats but 70s pressings.
Apple venus original is vastly better than the repress. However the xtc vinyl reissue campaign has been variable. And then the great vinyl resurgence of the late 2000 s happened. Before being stuck with a warped or bad sounding record glance the internet.
