Should You Put Your Desktop On Carpet
Thanks to all who helped solve this problem.
Should you put your desktop on carpet. From what i ve seen my pc should be on a piece of wood. Put your tower on top of your desk. And if you have a window in the case you can admire the computer while your game loads. I can t put it on the desk because it could literally kill the kids if it fell off on them or even the dogs.
So if you re looking for what we think is the best answer for most people. If you have carpet and want to put it on the floor get a board or something for it to stand on. Also it would look just stupid for a tower that size on the desk. Of course you can and should pl.
Thanks for all your opinions in this thread. What we re looking for is always to have airflow on all sides of your tower. Your computer would be at the most risk of static damage when you place it on the carpet move it on the carpet or pick it up off the carpet. No not exactly on the floor.
There s a science to balancing airflow through. But this isn t always possible and many people leave their computer tower on the floor often on carpet. I have seen many people do this i use the past tense since these days most people in my company have switched to notebooks but it is wrong the computer will breathe a lot of dust. Can you put a pc tower on carpet.
And try and leave as much room around it as you can. And if you don t have any carpet at all this isn t a concern. This is a bigger problem if you have a carpet. As with any computer hardware moving parts are the most likely things to fail in your computer so you should give moving parts extra attention.
But carpets are really good at trapping dust pet hair and all manner of other things. Your pc will be just at home sitting on a flat floor as it would on a flat desk. The current trend is to get your computer up off the carpet and onto your work surface. Before placing your pc on the floor be sure to think about airflow.
This isn t the best option for various reasons and you should really have your pc tower on a computer stand. Sure you can it s fine. Have a good day. Of course if you have short carpet on your floor the pc may be able to sit on that carpet with plenty of airflow underneath.
As stated in the other answers dust at the floor.
